Psychic House Party on Saturday July 24th

Looking for something to do on Saturday evening?  Well, look no more!

The Unitarian Fellowship of South Florida is holding its Psychic House Party on Saturday, July 24th from 4 PM to 9 PM.

There will be plenty of readers to tantalize you with messages.  There will also be vendors selling drums, jewelry, artwork, crocheted items and fairy costumes (just to name a few items).

The readings are $10 each or 3 for $25

Sunday Healing Service – July 13th

1_seven_chakras

We had decided a few month ago that for the months of July, August and September that instead of holding our regular Sunday Sermons, we would switch over to a healing service format. We will still have the same beginning and ending to the service that you are used to. However, instead of having a speaker, we will be having an energy healing/reiki session. Any healers or reiki practitioners are welcome to get up and help out. You are also welcome to sit and just receive.

If you have never experienced reiki or energetic healing, then you are definitely in for a treat.

Sunday Service from 11 AM – Noon

Eclectic Mind Shoppe – July 13th

We are now holding Eclectic Mind Shoppe classes every Sunday from 10 AM – 11 AM.

I bet you are now wondering to yourself what the Eclectic Mind Shoppe is exactly.  Well, let me tell you a little bit about it.

Each week will be a different topic with a different theme for 3 month periods of time.  What a wonderful way to start off your week!

In July, August and September we will be learning dreams, how to interpret them, and other things such as lucid dreaming.

These classes are all very much hands-on learning experiences.  We want you to be as much a part of the learning instead of just sitting and listening to someone just tell things to you.

The suggested donation for these classes is $5 per class.  They are definitely well worth it.

Eclectic Mind Shoppe – July 6th

lost-in-dreams July 6th starts the next series of classes in the Eclectic Mind Shoppe.  Rev Brenda Cannatella will be teaching us about dreams.  How do you remember your dreams?  How do you keep a dream journal?  How do you interpret your dreams?  How can you do lucid dreaming?  There are so many topics that she will be touching upon in this three month series.

If you can remember your dreams, please share them with us so that we can learn more.  This is a very participatory class.

One of the things that helps to keep our congregation together are the wonderful pot lucks.  They are a great way to get to know everyone much better.  Great food, great conversation.  What more could you ask for?

Edie & Marty will be grilling up hamburgers for everyone.  What else will people bring?  We ask that you bring a topping, side dish, or a dessert to share with everyone.

Set up & chatting at 1 pm.  Digging in to the food at 2 pm.

We hope to see you there!

Flower Communion

Throughout history, most cultures and religions have holidays that they can call their very own.  However, each holiday has to start somewhere and has to be started by somebody.  Most of them focus on the gods and/or goddesses of their religion.  What do you do when you practice such a diverse religion as Unitarian Universalism?  Most of us celebrate holidays that we grew up with or that we feel a close kinship to.

There are actually a few holidays that are Unitarian Universalist in nature.  We created them, we celebrate.  Have you heard of them yet?

Join us on Sunday as Rev. Brenda Cannatella leads us in the Flower Communion.

It is suggested to bring at least one flower with a decent stem on it to share in the communion.
